Nanaimo Concert Band consists of highly qualified volunteer musicians who play on woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. One thing that hasn’t changed over the last 150 years, is its ability to attract a fine group of talented musicians. Known as the oldest continuously operating band in Canada, our Band proudly brought home the Gold award from a national competition in Ottawa in 2001 after competing at the highest level of Concert Band competition.
If you haven’t heard Nanaimo Concert Band perform and you think to yourself…”I’m not into concert band music” …. you will be pleasantly surprised at how exciting our music is and that you know most of the tunes!
Plus, you can’t beat such a great price for live music. We keep ticket prices low, so that our concerts are affordable for all people to come and enjoy great music in Nanaimo’s beautiful Port Theatre. It’s a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon in comfort while listening to one of the finest musical groups Nanaimo has to offer.
