NANAIMO CONCERT BAND will deliver what it has become best known and loved for since 1872… a program well played, always entertaining, and leaving the audience wanting more!
Returning once again to the stage of the Port Theatre for their annual Fall concert, the members of the Nanaimo Concert Band will perform music from a variety of genres. Music has the power to express the full range of human emotions and can take the listener on a journey – whether the musical genre is classical, pop, show tunes, swing, jazz or a toe tapping march. As Poet Mary Oliver so aptly describes, “Music: what so many sentences aspire to be.”
The members of the Nanaimo concert band (50 strong) are community members from Nanaimo and the surrounding area – your friends, family, colleagues and neigbours. A group of talented and dedicated musicians with a common purpose, to bring quality concert band music to the people of Nanaimo and the surrounding communities.
Spend a Sunday afternoon at the Port Theatre, Nanaimo’s premier waterfront theatre, attending a performance which all generations can enjoy together at an extremely affordable price.
Nanaimo Concert Band believes that there is nothing better than the live music experience shared with an audience. Music is powerful and live music is food for the senses.
